Apple's Jonathan Ive gets knighthood in honours list
Jonathan Ive, Apple's head of design, has been awarded a knighthood in the New Year Honours list.
Mr Ive, who can now style himself Sir Jonathan, has been made a Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE).
Raised in Chingford, Mr Ive began working for Apple in 1992 and since then has been the brains behind many of its products.
He described the honour as "absolutely thrilling" and said he was "both humbled and sincerely grateful".
Vietnam treasures ties with Cambodia
The Government, people and army of Vietnam always attach importance to developing the solidarity with the Government, people and army of Cambodia and will do their utmost to preserve and further strengthen the relations.
The statement was made by Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung at a meeting with a delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly led by Pal Sam Oeurn, Vice Chairman of the Commission on Interior, National Defence, Investigation, Anti-Corruption and Public Function, in Hanoi on Dec. 29.

Frank Lampard scored a last-gasp winner as Chelsea secured a first win in five matches with a gutsy and much-improved display against Wolves at Molineux.
Stephen Ward seemed to have earned the hosts a point when he smashed Steven Fletcher's cross low into the net.
But Chelsea, who led through a Ramires strike, won it when Lampard volleyed in Ashley Cole's brilliant cross.

Apricot farmers worried about early blossoming
Apricot tree farmers in HCMC are being worried as their flowers have started to bloom well before the Lunar New Year because of heavy rain and unfavorable weather.
As the Lunar New Year, or Tet, is still 3 weeks away, it is too early for apricot flowers to blossom now.
At Ut Cao apricot flower garden, the flowers on half of the trees have been blossoming.
“The weather this year is awful,” Ut Cao, the garden’s owner, said with a sigh.
Apps downloads hit record high in last week of December
For the first time in a single week, more than a billion apps have been downloaded, according to a study.
Analytics firm Flurry said 1.2 billion apps were downloaded in the last week of December.
Activity was buoyed by the facts that many users received new devices for Christmas and firms offered discounted apps over the holiday period.
